iPad coming to AT&T and—yes—Verizon stores Oct 28
By Chris Foresman | Last updated 2 days ago

Apple has partnered with both AT&T and Verizon to sell iPads at their respective retail locations beginning October 28. AT&T will sell iPad 3G models that offer pre-paid 3G data service through AT&T. Lest you think Apple secretly made a CDMA model, however, Verizon will be selling WiFi-only iPads bundled with Verizon's popular MiFi 3G hotspot.
I'm not sure what to think about this. I finally moved from tmobile to verizon and even when with a smartphone. Love it. I wish I had done it years ago.

If there is an iphone in Verizon's future, I might be swayed to getting one, but right now the answer is no because I love my froyo 2.2.

If they aren't making a Verizon iPhone, then Steve Jobs is planning to dive, Scrooge McDuck style, into a bin of those 5 million Qualcomm CDMA chips they ordered in the past couple of months.

I've heard that around January 2011 is when the iPhone will hit Verizon. No doubt it will provide a nice surge in sales for Apple, and it may even leap back ahead of Android as the most used smartphone OS. It's a temporary fix, though, because Android phones come at many different price points, with many different feature sets, and that will only expand.

While I would love an iPhone, I'm sticking with Sprint for now. I've never really had a problem with my service (other than in ONE apartment building in Chicago.. but going up a few floors solved that issue), customer support, or plan cost.. switching to Verizon would cost me at least an extra $20-30 a month for the same service, and upgrading phones with Sprint is going to allow me to save $30 monthly on my mobile broadband service.

I wish Sprint would get the iPhone, though. Sigh.

I also like that I rooted my phone in less than 10 minutes and now can access wireless tethering, removed all the advertisements, and now can tweak my phone to the needs that I want. As opposed to "Think Different" I can be different.

The different price points is an added feature, but I think that maybe iPhone could eventually have a baby brother for entry level.
