Video card question
 

I'm wondering which video card I should is the better card between the GeForce FX 5600 256MB DDR and the ATI Radeon 9600 256mb? If you have one of these have you had any problems with them?

hard question. Normally I would say the 9600 but I really haven't looked at many 5600 reviews.

The 9600 only have 4 pipelines instead of the 8 the 9500/9700/9800 has severly limits it. It still does well at high res gaming though.

I will let someone like lich or someone else answer this, they will probably be very much better then me.

go with ati, it's probably slower but you are not sitting in a starting 747

I have a semi related Q. Does anyone know the diff between a radeon pro and a regular radeon? Anything diffrent besides the extra outputs?

You might also try reading up at http://www.tomshardware.com. They can be biased sometimes, but hey: we can read test results, right? You can also get to reviews at http://www.anandtech.com.

I'm with crashoverride: the recent GeForce cards are much louder than most people want to deal with. To me, that's just not a good design, and the ATI cards are just as powerful, albeit in a different way.

pro is clocked faster.

On the 9500 a pro had 8 pipelines, a none pro didn't.
