Question about computers and video stuff
Does anyone know how to get video off of a (older) camcorder and onto a computer? I know there is a USB video-in thing, but its $99 and I don't want to spend that much if I'm only going to do it this one time.

A TV tuner card would be better than the USB converter in any case (more bandwidth IIRC).. Of course, if you're serious about video editing, I'd recommend getting a d/a converter via firewire and importing it as DV etc - of course if this is a one-off like you said, that might not be worth it. You don't know anyone who's into video with a good setup who can help you out?
