SD slot on my blue ray wont cooperate
I dont know what Im doing wrong.
I bought a panasonic blue ray player over the weekend, its got an sd slot and supposedly Im supposed to be able to play video off of it. I d/l the most current Doctor Who confidential and put it on the card. When I input the card all it recognizes are the pictures that were on there, its not seeing the the avi file at all. Does anyone have experience with this that can tell me in regular english what I'm doing wrong? I used gspot to get the file info and it says its an xvid iso mpeg4 file if that means anything to anyone. I appreciate any assistance, one reason I got this particular one was so I could quit having to hook up my laptop using s-video to watch my stuff on the tv, and the book SAYS I should be able to. Please keep in mind Im not real tech savy when it comes to TV stuff thanks! |
Can you provide the model of the blu ray player?
EDIT -- A bit of Googling tells me that the Panasonic DMP-BD30K Blu-Ray player will only play video in the AVCHD format. The latest version of Nero (v9) can encode video in that format for storage on an SD card. I'll look around and see if I can find a freeware utility to do the same thing. |
thanks :) according to my book for Panasonic model DMP BD 60 it will play AVCHD or MPEG-2 I converted the file to an MPEG-2 and it still doesnt show up in the files on the player

How did you convert the file?
Best guesses so far are either that it's in a container file (ex. AVI) that your player doesn't like, or that something about the card's formatting is screwing things up. Make sure the file has a .mpg or .mpeg extension, and try reformatting the card in the Blu Ray player. |
I had gotten as far as reformatting the card but haven't put the file back on it yet to try. Im not sure how it was converted, Dave did that with some program he has.
Dave doesnt have his pc here tonite so I cant retry that bit until tomorrow |
