I can't remember all the names I have used, they are most often something chosen at the spur of the moment.
Here are few examples: Tremor (had an earthquake while installing the os), Coffee, Pile, Black, ThinkingPad, Rover, webserverI & webserverII.

Desktop was Cactus, brother's desktop is Beer, laptop is BHA, and the soon-to-be-installed carPC is Sagan. The last two are not Macs, so I should be clear of lawsuits. Wireless network is CCCP
No, that was installed before I developed language skills and object permanence. Quote:

My Desktop is named Mercutio. He was friends with everyone, and a little crazy. My Laptop is Satellite_Of_Love, after the MST3K ship, which is named after a favorite Lou Reed song. My wife's Desktop machine is Spock, so I named the network Enterprise (The original Workgroup was called Bridgecrew back when I used a Workgroup). The media Center PC is called Vaudeville (the hard drives are Backstage and Dressing_Room). Our daughter's netbook is called Pinky. She's The Brain. Together they will try to take over the world.
And yes, I still name my computers because the first computer I ever had required a name for Network access. Later it required one for WINS. I've been naming computers for a long time.

At one point we had several desktops named after the planets and the net was the milky way.
Not so creative with the current laptop though. I think I'll call him Ned.

All of my systems and servers are named after Nikola Tesla and his inventions. The guy was an incredible genius and I feel he has not received near the credit he deserves for what he did for modern science.
My system is named Nikola File server: Wardenclyffe Exchange server: Turbine Domain controller: Tesla Mobile messaging server: Coil Second file server: Dynamo Utility server: Telefunken Roommates system: Niagara (based on the generators that were designed by Tesla to harness the power of Niagara Falls)

Mother never did get why I found her choice of "tinkerbell" so amusing. I never really had the heart to tell her I'd named everything else I could after classic DooM levels for laughs.
