Trouble upgrading your iPhone?

Yeah me too. And their 'excuse' that it's because their activation server is getting bogged is complete horseshit. Didn't Apple run into this same problem when the 2nd gen iPhone was released? Oh, wait, they sure did.

And you mean to tell me that they can't get this problem fixed from then?

They're lucky AT&T locked me into their overpriced contract. I'll be damn'd if I let one of Steve Jobs' minions hook me into one of their products again.

I never update anything on the first day. Let the bleeding edge find the errors for me.

My iPod Touch updated just fine the day after the release.

No problems here. I started the download at lunch shortly after the switch was flipped and installed the update that evening. Took 10 or 15 minutes for the actual update.

I updated fine but while I was making new ringtones last night I got a 13012 error "iTunes can not sync with iPhone". Found a post on their forum about it that said to unsync your music and resync it. Did that and it worked fine. So far so good. *knocks on wood*

I updated mine from the 3.0 GM seed released on the iPhone developers' network last week. I did have some trouble, but it was my damn fault. Once I figured out how to make the device come out of restore mode and talk to me again, we were golden.

I got hung up at the backup and then right in the middle of the second try, our electricity blinked, creating a really expensive doorstop. Luckily the restore worked great...except it cleared my music and ringtones. After I got them back on the phone I've had no problems.

What is this upgrade you speak of?

I quit manually managing media files after a couple of restores. SO much easier to let iTunes do the copying for you! Those little checkboxes stay put in your iTunes in a way that files on your iPod just don't, necessarily.

I had no problems upgrading but noticed now that I can't set the automatic lock to 5 minutes, it goes on instantly once I close the phone, and that my wireless connection will not connect automatically regardless of the settings.
odd.

The best way to "upgrade" Apple products is to stick them in the microwave, on high, for about five minutes. Works like a charm!

I got my iphone 3.0 upgrade about a year ago when I bought a G1. It had all the features the 3Gs added plus still has a few more...
