I ripped a dvd recently and dont know what program I need to read an MDS file

Or, where can I find a free program to convert an MDS file to a MPEG file?

MDS stands for media Description Image File

AKA a cd Image or in your case a DVD Image

The only program / best program i know of to mount this a cd rom or even burn it would be Alcohol 120%

But I dont want to burn it, I want to keep it on my hard drive as a MPEG

C'mon you smart people! Anyone know of a free software to read or convert MDS into MPEG or AVI?

see above. you don't have to burn the image, using Alcohol. it will mount images as virtual cd's, enabling you to use them as if they were a physical cd in your drive
