How do I Make a VCD!?!?
Ok, so I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum. It has the option to make VCDs (Video CDs) on it. I have a whole lotta mpeg, mpg, avi, and wmv files that I would love on VCD. The only problem is I can only put MPEGs on VCD. And when I do that they come out all choppy for the first few minutes or so. Short clips....I don't even bother cause its all too choppy to watch.
Can anyone give me an explanation on how I can get these files on to VCD nice and smooth? Also I believe I will need to convert a few of the files (avi, mpg, and wmv) to a different format (perhaps mpeg-1?) but am not sure how to do that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a bit pc illiterate so explanations in stupid people talk would be appreciated as well. Thanks |
in order to put a video onto a vcd, it has to be in the mpeg1 format. if not, you have to convert it.
you can lose quality etc... during this conversion. i have nero (and had winoncd) and they both did the converting for me. it takes an AWFUL long time to conver the files. for more help, check out www.vcdhelp.com it's extremely helpful! |

Yeah the nero software works really good for VCD's. And I'm glad to find out the converting process takes forever for someone else too.

oh yea if it studders at the beginning, that means you are burning too fast, if you are using the vcd template they provide, use a MAX of 4x burning

Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna have to try that all later tonite.
