m4a? i was limewiring around and got a bunch of what look like music files with a .m4a extension, which i have never seen before. anyone know anything about this format or know what player is required to use it? |

m4a is an extension for the MPEG audio 4 file format. More commonly used extension is mp4. You should try renaming the file from m4a to mp4. I do believe that Quicktime for windows can handle it. |

yup, quicktime will play them for you (even though .mp4 might wrongly give you a WMP icon) |

many thanks, spleen, you are indeed the man of the hour. i renamed and qtime picked 'em right up. |
