I need about 10 17" LCD monitors

Odd request but, I'm trying to save some cash and I need to purchase 10 17" LCD's which isn't a normal thing for me. If anyone knows of a company that does this kind of thing for a larger order discount or has any other leads let me know.

Heh ironically I was hoping to avoid tigerdirect because I'd have to pay sales tax with them.

Have a friend order them for you that lives out of state, but get them shipped to your place. Don't know if that actually works, but it's worth looking into for that kind of cash.

avoid tigerdirect sales tax or no. They peddle junkware.

"omg buy this noname ram for 20$"

seems like a good deal till you do research, see the timing is crap, the warranty is crap, the materials are crap, and the reviews are crap.

my ex roomate swore by tigerdirect, yet ironic situation was, he was always the one having to replace things for his computer, and when it did run it was sluggy

anyways um. Dave seems to be on to something. If that doesn't work you can always try a wholesaler.

You might have to go industry grade for lowest price: the monitors theaters string together to make a large screen at the concession stand, or the monitors McDonald's would buy if they were to build a new joint. Since you'd be ordering 10... you can get a discount. I am looking for better sites than the ones I am turning up.

What are you planning with these 10 monitors? Make a surround screen? HardOCP would have you beat with their 24 monitor display.

Call a few major wholesalers like Dell, ask about volume discounts, tell them you'll call back when you get quotes from everyone. Do a few rounds of "can you beat this quote I got from [x]?"

If you don't mind used, try IT (or IS) departments of government agencies.

The area I work with is in the processing of changing out its 17" monitors for 2 on-a-desk brand new 19". I don't even think they're two years old yet. I'm sure we're not the only ones doing this with taxpayer dollars.

Here they're about $179-$199. But the upside to shopping at Costco is the 2% cash back (if you have an Executive Membership or a Costco Amex) and the great customer service. Costco really goes the extra mile on returns. Plus, you can pick up 10 monitors at once at your local Costco, versus waiting for them to be shipped.

The 2% cash back annually makes my dad about $50-100 off of my purchases alone. He won't tell me how much he gets back total.
