Fark!!! Anyone know any other way to reset xp password
So, last night I while I was drinking and was pissed at the girlfriend. I changed my password in windows xp so that she can't get in. Instead now, I can't remember the new password.
![]() ![]() I am running a raid configuration and the small windows password recovery progie on a floppy disk that I have can't detect the drives because it is setup as raid 0 thru sata drives. If it was an IDE or standard supported sata drives, the reset password progie would work because I used it on laptops and other people's pc that runs on IDE. On the username screen, it only displays my userid to log in. I can't change the username to the admin account either because all it gives me is to enter my password for my id. Any suggestions? P.S. Don't change your password while your drunk and running the OS on a raid configuration setup or you will end up like me. ![]() ![]() Last edited by invalidiuser; 12-13-2007 at 11:31 AM.. |

ah well in my case i'd be boned cuz I usually lock down any kind of backup system (do it manually with an external enclosure) and the only account on my computer is the admin account if I have anything to say about it. (although I guess there is the safe mode admin account too, god, it's been too long since i've dealt with it)

Boot into safe mode and wipe it from user accounts in control panel? IIRC safe mode doesn't require any sort of login. As long as you know the admin password you should be good. Run control userpasswords2 to get there quicker.

Thanks guys for all the input. Tried Willravel's links http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/P...cle.asp?ID=305
and was able to solve my password issue without losing any data. Cool, again, do not change your password when drunk or may result in being like me. ![]() |
