When I last posted, I left out my Linux box.

P3 800
256Mb PC133
15GB
OS: Currently Gentoo Linux

Its slow (and took FOREVER to compile Gentoo), but it works for what it is used for--experimenting.

AxelF 01-24-2004 01:19 PM

I just built this dream machine for about $6000 (in Sweden):

Intel P4 3.2GHz
Abit IC7-MAX3
Tagan 480W BLACK SILENCE
PowerColor RADEON 9800 XT 256 (couldn't get the watercooled Gainward CoolFX PowerPack! Ultra/1800 XP GS that I wanted)
OCZ 1024MB DDR500 PC-4000 GOLD
2 x Western Digital 74GB Raptor (10000rpm)
Samsung 21" 213T TFT
Plextor DVD 16X/48X
Logitech Z-680 5.1 (Soundsystem)
Compucase Miditower CI-6926-BL
Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Bluetooth (keyboard and mouse)

I love my new rig! The monitor is great. Games fly! I have to add watercooling though since the graphics card makes more noice than I can stand, it's very very loud. So is the sub - a bit too loud.
