Windows XP install on a custom drive letter? You know!
Whenever you install WinXP using the bootable CD, the drive letters go in order starting with C (then D:, etc etc etc) and you can't change that. If you can, let me know.
The solution for me previously was to pop the install disk while running XP on C:. I already have a partition out called W: for my new windows partition. So while running XP on C:, I autorun the CD, then press some key and I get this dialog box to change the install path from c:\windows to w:\windows or something. Then there were two check boxes, one was to copy the setup files to the hard drive (I did this). I rebooted, and installed windows to w:. I'm having other problems, and I want to reinstall, but I can't find out what that key I pressed was and I can't figure out how to get that dialog box up. Someone's gotta know this letter/keypress.
