censoring video with virtualdub
Does anyone know how to censor parts of a video with virtual dub; I want the sounds to stay the same, just to blur the entire screen beyond recognition, or just black is good too.

The entire screen? Well, just go into the menu Video > Filters... and, in the filter dialog that comes up, press the Add... button and you will see a list of filters. Choose one that strikes your fancy...
...mind you, VirtualDub is not a video editor, so whatever filter you choose will be applied to the entire video stream... |

What you want is a NLE. Adobe Premiere Pro is an example of one. AviSynth is a free, open source script driven video editor that you could use. Although their main site is down, you can still get the source from SourceForge and compile it, yourself. Shockingly, Avid has a free version of their profesionally NLE available for download. Finally, I'm told that Windows comes with Movie Maker, which may be able to do what you want. I have never used it, myself...
Good luck! |
