simple electronic text editor
 

Hello from Argentina. Haven't posted for a long time but I enjoy stopping in to read.

I do an online travel blog and spend a lot of time (and money) going to internet cafes. I was thinking today that what I need is a simple electronic text device that I can carry with me and type logs with and then transfer into a computer. Yeah, I know, a piece and paper and pen is the cheapest option. And I also know that there's expensive PDA's that will have tons of features I don't need.

Get a second hand PDA - they cost peanuts on ebay.

you can get small portable keyboards for PDA's for super easy typing... you can find some with wi-fi so you can go online and upload to your blog from within the pda... you'll beable to avoid using internet cafe's and stuff... i'm not sure how many open wifi sources are in argentina but they are abundent where i am atleast

Yep. Find yourself a Palm Vx or something--it's small, easy to use, still has plenty of functionality. There are keyboards still available for it.

Type up your blog posts in "Memos", which will sync with your computer and can be copied and pasted into your blog.
