.vob
I have a digital video recorder and with the whole dvd thing, well, i was making a video for school and i can't get my windows media player to play the disc, I need to change the .vob (i think that is it) to something else how can I do that? I formatted the dvd, put it into the computer and I can see that it's there but I can't get anything to open it...how can I fix that?

you should be able to open the vob file in powerdvd (or any dvd player program) by using the open dvd file on computer option.
To convert from a vob file to something else, you can try the guides at videohelp (http://www.videohelp.com/convert) for information on how to do that. |
just adding a question of my own on this since I have no experience, but can you convert the .vob to a .wmv file with the Windows Movie Maker program?

An average rule of thumb is that if the program itself does not recognize or play the file, then you can't use it to convert the file. There are lots of conversion programs out there that are cheap and easy to use.
