Animate GIF trouble.
 

Why wont my comp play animated gifs anymore, no matter what webpage I go to, the gifs wont play.

Im runnin XP Pro, with Norton AV Corp, Zone Alarm PRo.

First what version of IE?
Second have you played around with your prefs? You might have gifs set to never play.

Zone Alarm Pro does not allow for animated gifs. I think its part of the ad-blocking portion of ZoneAlarm. You may need to do some hunting to find an option that will allow for animated gifs.

I use IE 6, but meanSpleen nailed it, once I temporarily disabled ZAP, and cleared my temp internet files, the gifs played. Now to continue, I cant find any options in ZAP to allow for animated gifs to play, it looks like switching firewalls may be my only option, any recommendations?

I think it's under the ad-blocking setting. Try switching that to off and see if that works.

I shouldve figured ZAP would consider an animated gif an add, but I didnt think about it, now to get a pop up blocker:D

Zone Alarm Pro is a pop up blocker! I use it and I haven't had a pop up ever since I started using it. Open up ZAP and click on Privacy. Then the custom button in Add Blocking. Make sure Pop up/pop under is checked and you'll never get a pop up again. Uncheck animation and the animated gifs will play again. In that same section you can also block all Banner adds.

I know zone alarm is a pop up blocker, but to play gifs I had to uncheck pop-up/pop-under for them to work.

Ad Muncher + Avant Browser or MyIE2 = No pop up ads or banner ads ever.
