MP3 player with FM transmitter

I did a search on this and didn't find anything relevant. What I am looking for is an MP3 player with an FM transmitter. I don't know if that's the correct name for it. I know the iTrip attachment for the iPod will do this, but I'm not interested in an iPod. I'm also willing to spend up to $200. I did a search at two sites (circuitcity.com, newegg.com), and I cannot tell if any of them actually come with an FM transmitter or not. Some of them say "FM tuner" but doesn't that just mean that it receives radio signals, but doesn't necessarily transmit them?
Another thing that worries me is that just about every MP3 player for under $200 listed at newegg.com has almost nothing but bad reviews. It seems like most MP3 players tend to start to fall apart after a few months. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm also open to buying an MP3 player and then purchasing a separate FM transmitter that will hook up to it, but having the functionality built in would be nice.

Belkin sells an FM transmitter that's supposed to be decent: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...611255?ie=UTF8

and supposedly it works with everything, including CD players. It also works off of batteries instead of your player, which is nice.

I've never seen an mp3 player actually come with an FM transmitter, so I think it's something you have to purchase seperately.

Thanks for the recommendation, onesnowyowl. I talked to one of my friends who has owned a Cowon iAudio x5 (mp3 player) for a few months and he says it is pretty reliable. It's above my intended price range, but for the quality, I think it's worth it. He also told me the same thing that you did, that if I want an FM transmitter, I have to buy it separately. He recommended the iRock 450 FM though, which also runs on batteries. Anyone else have suggestions?

MP3 player with FM transmitter ?

CCRANE.COM sells a good FM transmitter for plugging into your
computer or MP3 player or any electronic device that has an
output(Earphone) or some way to get the audio signal. It will
transmitt your music or speech to a nearby radio (I am told)
and seems to work well. Cost is under $90. (On sale from time
to time for $69.???) I have seen them at my local FRY's
electronics store along with C.Crane's radios.

If you absolutely have to use an FM transmitter for your car, then go ahead and do it. But I highly suggest making 100% sure that there is no way you can hook up the MP3 player to an auxilary input on your stereo. If there is an aux input, then you can find a cable which will go from the headphone jack on your player to the input on your stereo.

I think you'll find that in some countries/areas its technically illegal to use one of these devices. Especially if there is any chance of it interfering with a 'proper' FM station. I'd check the laws in your area first - although it would be unlikely anyone would notice one of these very small FM transmitters as the range is very short!

I use a Belkin unit and it's very good - provided that you're not in a major metropolitan area with lots of radio stations, then there can be interference from ht elocal stations.

This is a good point--even a tape adapter is better than an FM transmitter, to be honest.

Nope, you can get one at Walmart for around 35 bucks. Plugs into the cig. lighter of your car and accepts anything with a miniplug, and also accepts USB flash drives. It'll automatically play the mp3's in the root directory of the flash drive. Pretty cool little toy.

If you wanna go more expensive and can find one, snag an old Neuros Audio. MP3 player with FM tuner AND transmitter, built-in mic, and between a 20 and 80 gig hard drive, depending on which model you get.

Did some research myself, the RAMOS RM100 is quite a nice little toy. Readily available in China and should be available to US soon. Google it and see what you think.

ps RAMOS has about 10 different models, including FM.
