How do I get rid of XP Pro log in screen?
So here's the situation: Originally my computer would boot up, display the ASUS mobo screen, then go directly to desktop exactly as I wanted.
Then, ATI started requiring the Microsoft .net framework to run their drivers ( ugh! ). So I intalled the .net without paying enough attention to what I was getting into. After installing MS .net now I have to go through a log in screen every time I start my computer before it hits the desktop screen. I removed MS .net framework from the control panel remove programs window and now am running Omega video drivers, but the damned log in page while starting up is still there ! The only user account on my computer is ME (with full administrator privelages obviously) and the guest account is off. If anyone can help me get rid of the login screen that would be awesome thanks ! |
Try this:
* Select Run from the Start Menu, type control userpasswords2, and click Ok. * Turn off the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, and click Ok. |
Woot it works ! Thanks a lot !

If you ever have to log in as a different user, hold left shift at the windows loading screen and don't release until you see the log in screen.
