NEC Phone Systems?
Does anyone have experience with NEC business phone systems? A customer of mine uses a DS1000 system and has issues. Their setup was a DIY project so their access to real phone installers would be starting fresh.
Simple needs: They want evening calls to be dump directly to voicemail. Right now it's done by automatic schedule. Rather than use the programmable schedule they would like to control day/night with the attendants' night buttons. From what I gather this means trunks must terminate at attendant stations. But voicemail docs state trunks must terminate at the master voicemail extension (700), not a handset. Is there a secret? Overflow from attendant's station to voicemail? The documentation is extraordinary in its ability to trigger ADD. I don't want to mess with settings too much for fear of creating new issues. Yes, this is far afield but then so are our member skillsets.

The propaganda that inundates them is effective when unchallenged, but much of it goes only skin deep.
