Linksys WUSB11 USB, Win98SE, no more internet
 

Hey Everyone,

I've been using Linksys WUSB11 USB Wireless Network Adapter v1.0 for the past couple of months on my older computer - P2 350:Win98se and was somewhat happy with the connection signal.

When the opportunity to purchase a newer version of the same adapter v4.1 came along I decided to purchase the newer adapter since I was hoping it would provide a stronger signal but when I installed the software that came along with the adapter, I got an “illegal operation error” along with win98se crashing.

So after I uninstalled the v4.1 software and I tried to revert back to v1.0 but I keep encountering the following “the application is already running” so I can’t configure the connection at all.

Would the problem be that since I installed a more recent version of the adapter, win98se prevents any installation of an older model.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

do you have an option in add/remove programs to uninstall the driver? or device manager, try uninstalling the driver for the wusb11 under network adapters.
