.rar File Extraction
 

I have the first 3 parts of a file that has been spanned over 5 .rar files. The files I have all extract properly until they need the fourth and fifth parts - which I have somehow lost and cannot get back.

Is there any way I can force the extraction of each of the parts (that I have) seperately?

OS: XP SP2
WinRar Version: 3.51 (registered)

try opening with winrar, it should say its corupted or something, but it will still display the complete files, as for the incomplete, i think your hosed on those.

If I understand you correctly, all you have to do is press the "Extract To" button at the top (second from the left, just right of the "Add" button) and, in the dialog box that comes up, check the "Keep broken files" checkbox, in the middle of the "Miscellaneous" group box.

It depends on the type of porn, er, files you have. If you have the first parts of, say, an avi or mpg file, you could salvage the movie by extracting as Knifemissile said, and then opening it in a media player, or if that fails, a movie editor. (Windows: virtualdub, Mac: no clue.)

If it's pictures, there shouldn't be any problem, except with the last picture in the archives. Now, if it's an executable file (a program), you're not going to be so lucky; they're pretty much useless if they're incomplete.

If you found this on Usenet, then look for PAR files posted by the same person. In case any RAR parts go missing or get corrupted, you can use PARs as filler.

Yep that's the way of doing it, I always do it that way and it works...

Also for pictures some will appear and if they are videos they might not work unless you use a software to fix them and the be able to see what's available...
