DS pictochat pc app
What I am looking for is a program that I can run on my PC that will connect locally to my DS over my wireless router. For instance I would like to be able to pictochat with the app on my PC and possibly have that info sent to someone over the internet using the same setup...
Anyone know of any apps like this? I have already asked on the games forum and they suggested I post here.

I thought this would be an interesting thing to have, so I did a google search. Of course, my top hit was "DS pictochat pc app - Tilted Forum Project".
Cool as it would be, it wouldn't be all that practical. I think we're out of luck... I've heard of other ways to get the PC and DS to talk, but they all involve running homebrew apps off flash cards, and have nothing to do with Pictochat. Maybe if the rumored Pictochat 2 will WiFi Connection for VoIP, someone will get on this... Come to think of it, I've never used Pictochat in a way where it wasn't just a novelty and we couldn't just talk instead. WiFi would be neat.

Yeah, I think 3rd party apps are the only way to go in this case. You can do a DL-play off your router if you don't have a flash card, but you'll either need a passthrough or flashed ROM to play non-signed apps.
I've seen several that use ssh, and the homebrew boards are always talking about new ways to do it. Of course, you could just wait until the Opera browser cart is put out by nintendo. I think that would be a good solution to your problem. http://www.opera.com/products/devices/nintendo/ Last edited by Scorpion23; 07-10-2006 at 06:19 PM.. Reason: forgot about opera :-/ |
