Printing Problems
I have an HP DeskJet 648C hooked up to a Dell Dimension. Its having problems printing. Whenever I hit the print button it'll take the paper in, then as soon as it goes to print it stops and an error pops up. I've unplugged it and plugged it back in and it did the same thing. It seems to only do it right when its about to print. Whenever I hit the flashing "resume" button it doesn't do anything and keeps blinking. Then when I hit the power button it spits the paper back out. Any ideas on whats wrong?

Have you tried reinstalling the printer driver or looking to see if there's an update on the HP site? Also, have you looked at HP's site for troubleshooting/FAQ's?
If those don't help, I'm out of ideas at the moment... :\ |
When the paper stops, is there a sound as if the printer is trying to keep the paper moving?

number one question, what is the error that pops up.

Taking the computer out of the equation, will it feed a sheet when you hit the resume button?
I've seen a couple of those printers that were damaged by pulling the paper out after a jam. If you pull a partially fed sheet from the front instead of clearing it from the back the feed roller will bind, bend, and then have problems feeding. Horrible design but they're not meant to last. |
