Arcview performance thoughts?
Any Arcview users or admins here? A client is asking for performance help. Before I burn a couple hours profiling can anyone suggest low hanging fruit? What are the relative demands on a self-contained system? (local database)
-Video (OpenGL?) -Disk: access, transfer, cache? -CPU Assume adequate RAM - no VM. Right now it's running on a low-end AMD64 system with a single slow 7200RPM drive and integrated video. I can throw in fast video easily enough but I'd like to minimize experimentation once it comes to disk layout. Thanks!
