good place to buy a good used laptop?
 

I'm in the market for a laptop that would be used for work only, so I'm not looking for top of the line stuff. Mostly something to use word/excel on and have internet access with (wireless would be a plus but not necessary). Is there any places online where I can find cheap/used but in good condition laptops? Or am I stuck looking around locally?

I'd check places like www.overstock.com or even the major computer manufacturers... the most always have reconditioned equipment for a really good price... the reconditioned equipment also comes with some form of a warranty, so that when you get it home and it doesdn't turn on -- you are pretty much covered...

Otherwise, and it's be my least favorite place to go,because I am quite untrusting of the human race, is Ebay - -you might geta good deal there... but you also get what you pay for...

If you dont mind spending about $400 you can get a nice new one from tigedirect.com mostly refurbed stuff but its safer then buying a used one. if that costs too much to spend i have no idea where to look for one.

don’t shop at tigerdirect, there company is a huge scam, they deny rebates all the time for the stupidest reasons.

For this laptop, what kind of price range are you looking for?

thanks for the replies so far. My price range is 400-500 bucks, maybe a little bit more but not much.

At $500 you can get some new models. Might be last year's version but things move quickly.

You might try to make a deal on a store demo, especially at month end. They'll have full warranty.

Otherwise maybe craigslist.org, though I wouldn't buy one that wasn't local.

You'll probably find that most used laptops are over priced. You're just better off getting a low end new laptop.
