Bad day with computers.
I just spilled cherry coke on my Apple Powerbook. I hope nothing went wrong but I have noticed my 'O' key isn't working all of the time.
Anybody have this problem and what happened to yours? |
i had a friend who spilled a glass of milk on her's. she turned it off and unplugged in right away, and let it all dry. the powdery white stuff crusted up and she dusted it away. everything worked fine after.
soda on the other hand is different, and it sucks. |

This might be a little late (going on 3 hours now), but you NEED to turn your computer off, unplug it, and get the battery out of it ASAP. Try to not disturb the laptop when you do this, like turning it upside down. Liquid spills can be bad in any amount, especially if close to the edge of the keyboard like it seems like it is for you.
You should also read this article. Soda long-term is fairly corrosive to equipment, so you should watch out for that. How much soda was it that spilled? |
Hey thanks NeoRate for the input... it was a fair amount, about a half glass. As soon as it happened I turned it upside down... but it got all of the liquid out except for the droplets on the keyboard and than I turned it off.
I went home ASAP and turned it back on and was fine but just in case I backed up all of the important files onto a DVD via my external DVD burner. It seems to be working fine now except you have to hit the 'O' key a tad bit harder. I plan on taking it to the Apple store either today or tomorrow to have them clean it and see if any damage has been done. |
as long as nothing was shorted out it should be fixable.just with alot of cleaning.

Yea, I'm on it now so I think it's alright.
