Additional ethernet ports
I have a one of these US robotics wireless routers (Model: USR8054)
http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/3124/untitled9fm.jpg It only has four ports and I've used them all. Problem is, I need more ports. Can anybody recommend a good switch that will work well with this wireless router? |
i dont have any ideas for you,
but, if you could, give a quick review of your experence with this router? I've been useing a linksys for a few months, and it has been a pain in the ass |
Reccomend one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833122005 You should be able to just plug it in and get an extra 3 ports (crossover cable between the two takes one port on each). I've also had good experence with the 8-port model. |
Any switch will do, try to find one with an uplink port built in, use the uplink port to join the 2 devices with a normal Ethernet cable; otherwise you will need a crossover cable to make the link.

A switch is a switch. Its even more fun when you daisy chain them together!

Yeah, for routers and managed switches, I'd look into it. For passive switches, get something cheap. They'll either work or they won't about 99% of the time.
