Cordless desktop > 6ft range
 

Does anyone have a cordless desktop > 6ft range? Thinking of putting a mini desktop in the familyroom next to the TV. TV to couch distance is over 8ft. I've looked at both Logitech and Microsoft but effective range isn't always available.

Oh yeah, I don't want to spend over $45...

i have a media PC that uses an ATI wireless remote, the range was to far so i run a 15 foot USB extension cord to it, works fairly well but i am pressing the past the max length on USB.

try putting a 6 foot extension on the receiver

Have an MX1000 that can easily go over 6ft. Don't know too much about the keyboards though.

Are bluetooth keyboard/mouse better (longer range)?

Yeah, Bluetooth is not a long range wireless option at all...

blue tooth is rated to 10 meters by spec, whether or not you get 10 meters is another thing.

10 meters or 10 feet? There is a HUGE difference!

I have my tv is my living room, and my couch is pretty far away from my tv.
so what I did is I have my computer pretty close to me (beside couch and under a endtable), i then run the cord up so the lil monitor thing is sitting right under me. I just run a huge cord along the wall for my connection to the tv and speakers.
