I don't know if you're looking for ear buds or actual headphones, but I bought these recently for about $40 and I'm happy with them. They come with three different sized rubber things that go over the part that goes in your ear, so you're almost guaranteed a good fit.

I'll second that. I bought the Sony in-ear ones a few months back and they're great because they cut out so much background noise you can use a lower volume setting (so it's better for your long term hearing).

I wish I would have found those Sony buds before I got these. The frequency response of the Sonys is far superior to the Phillips buds I bought. Although I only paid 13 bucks for them on e-bay.

ah sweet, now that i think i think that i might go ear-bud, to make it easier to listen in bed, so i can lay on my side without worrying about the headphones.... and those philips do havea nice feature, of volume control, considering that my Sirius is mainly intended to broadcast to car audio, it's volume control is hidden within some menus....

looking on headphone.com has earbuds up to like 25 bucks and IEM's (really really good earbuds) starting at 100 bucks... i'm gonna look at some other sites now

i just wish i could afford these.... oh ya, if anyone wants to get me an early birthday present, this is it!

Ultimate Ears UE-10 Pro
How in the world can we call any headphone perfect? Of course, it’s not. But when you’ve never heard anything better, you’ve got no basis of comparison. All we hear with the Ultimate Ear UE-10 is the complete absence of the world of noise outside; and a completely natural articulation of a world of music inside. Beyond transparent, these headphones are direct interconnects between your portable music playing hardware and your personal listening physiology; in other words: you get to have personal listening bliss anywhere, anytime. If you’ve got the dough, this is where to spend it.

These custom molded cans are literally one of a kind. You go to your local audiologist; have deep, full ear impressions made; and then send them off to them. Once Ultimate Ears has your impressions, they build molds, and then cast in the crossover network and dual drivers of this amazing headphone. Add four feet of premium flexible cabling and a 90 degree angle mini-plug and you’ve got over 20dB of isolation (more than twice as good as noise cancellers), and the clearest and most articulate audio you’ve ever heard.

The Ultimate Ears are a special order item, and therefore our 30-day guarantee only applies to defective or malfunctioning headphones. If you are interested in purchasing the Ultimate Ears, we suggest that you email sales or call us at 800.828.8184 to learn more about these fine products and if they are right for you.

Once you have decided the Ultimate Ears are the right choice for you, be sure to read about getting impressions correctly made on their webpage.

One warning. I listen to mp3s in bed too. However I rolled over on my side one night with my buds in and had the worst ear ache the next day. I lay only on my back now until I fall nearly asleep then take them off.

You might want to forget these if you really don't want anybody to hear what you're playing. Great headphones, but they're not sealed at all.

I also have the sony ones, but the white ones. There is no difference, and the white ones cost more for some odd reason. I should have taken em back I guess..

But yea, they are far superior to the normal ipod ones, and they are super small which is good I guess.

I have the Sony white buds, I do like them.

I've been a Sony buyer for a long time, for use in professional audio applications. I've usually purchased the MDR V6 ($90), but there's a new Sony line out that delivers the goods for $50, the MDR V600.

That said, I don't own a pair, my latest studio phones are NexxTech. They cost all of $20, and deliver sound comparable to a pair of Sony MDR 7504 cans. I got them at Circuit City, and use them in production.

i got these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...&s=electronics
you can buy them new or used for 70ish
the sure e2c they are like wearing earplugs with little speakers

i'm able to listen to the music quietly even when their is a lot of outside noise, it seals it out

after i got the right fitting sleeve for my ear they feel and sound great, if you put the wrong sleeve on they will be uncomfortable and sound crummy, they have to be sealed in your ear to sound right

now the one bad thing about these... it is EXTREMELY easy to zone out of what is around you when wearing these... they effectively make you deaf to all but the loudest outside sounds. and they are designed to have the wire go from behind over the top of your ear, so the wire doesnt hang by the earbud itself... was weird at first but now i like that better then normal.

i should say my current headphone status, my decent pair of headphones had some issues with some fraid wires inside the jack, soo i cut the jack off and stripped all the plastic off of it, and tried to re-soder the wires onto the jack....... and apperently that didn't work to well, soo now i am using one of those super-duper-cheap earbuds that you get in an airplane.... i think it was from a southwest flight... one of the planes with XM radio, between the cheap headphones and me not having sirius, it was one long ass flight! the headphones are soo horrid, i ended up doing a video production project with them and damn that dampered my results

Ear buds are ok, but I prefer in ear monitors myself. After trying the Shure E4C, I was really hooked. They seal inside your ear and will usually give you far better isolation and better bass (because it now has a sealed cavity). Yeha, I know, they are not cheap...save your money, dudes!

Headphone.com is a good site. They don't always list if items are in stock or not (and I have sent them several emaisl reagarding that) but they DO always come through in the end. I have never had a purchase go sour there, and their co president is a total headphone geek and a nice guy. Anyway, if you're on their site, read up on some fo the technology and buying guides. Lots of good info. Me like headphones!
