I have a question, not looked at the link yet, but if this is like Trillian and I can use all my accountts with it, then I might have people within the XXX mile range because it SHOULD carry over my exisiting buddy lists correct? The way you describe it not having a lot of people on it yet, almost make it seem like a IRC or chat room type of deal and you get to see who is on whatever channel at the time you are on.

Well, for them to show up on the Meetro (distance-based) system, they'd need their own accounts. So no, that wouldn't work until they'd made a Meetro account.

Oddly enough, right after I signed on for the first time, one of the main programmers for the thing started messaging me (I'm also a programmer). So he's given me some insight into how the system works. It's a lot less complex than you'd think.

This seems like a really neat idea. It seems especially great for those people who have recently moved and have yet to create a new friend network.
