I understand what happened with the Erogenous Zone, but I thought that it was only gone for rookies. I am not a rookie, but still can't access the EZ. What am I doing wrong?

It is only gone for non full members. While you are no longer a rookie (over 50 posts), you are not yet a full member because a moderator has yet to review your posts and choose to upgrade you. It will come when it comes...continue making valuable posts and enjoying the rest of the forum.

Yeah, I've seen many people just posting "lol", "yeah" or just double posting when you could just make it one messange and eventually they got banned.

No real point, but the name Harry Cox makes me laugh every time I see it. So keep posting!! :p

Those are all good examples of posts that will not help you whatsoever with gaining access to anything.

i saw one the other day that had like 50+ posts of "Thanks for sharing" or something along the lines of that. Why even bother posting if your going to post crap like that? save the bandwith

what the world needs is more censorship and less appreciation.

I've got like 15 posts in this entire board and, whooptee doo, I can't access the EZ anymore but unlike all the damn criers about not being able to access that particular forum at least I can still appreciate reading most of the other posts in the other forums. Some of you whiners need to get a life or something.

There's a difference between appreciation and spam. 50 posts in 50 minutes that have the exact same words is usually a good hint the person never even looked at the thread. Just opened, pasted, posted.

huh? i thought the min post count had been lifted because i can see the EZ now..and i really havent posted much at all...*looks excited* does this mean i was in some way contributing to the site??? or is the EZ just back for everyone?

I don't understand why TFP would use this method to attract contributors to the forums: Get them hooked on the EZ forum then shut it down and invite them to contribute to the other forums in order to get their access back.

I found the TFP from a google search while looking for porn a little while ago, LOL.

It reminds me of the "Get out the Vote" and "Rock the Vote" campaigns put out by both political parties. Why do we want people to vote who don't even know what the 3 main branches of government are and/or cannot locate Iraq on a map.

the answer is simple. People were abusing the EZ. What I mean by that is that the majority of new people were simply leeching and not contributing to the rest of the board. It was killing bandwith, not to mentin Hal's wallet. This board is not a porn board this is a place to edcuate and evolve. There are so many great areas of this board that I really can't understand why someone would even want to focus on the EZ. This isn't a new concept for TFP. When I joined even before the crash. You had to earn the priviledge to view the EZ. I like that much better. Opening it up was a great way to attract members in hopes that we would find more members who would contribute but sadly this didn't happen for the most part. The way the EZ access is setup now is IMHO the best way. A person should be hooked to TFP not just the EZ.

I also found tiled while looking for porn, I'll admit. Alas I came for the boobies, but I stayed for the enlightening discussion.

I suggest you stop waiting and just enjoy the site. You're giving off the impression that you're very eager to gain access to the EZ, I hope that's not why you stay...

I post on several different message boards. One thing that brought me too TFP was the EZ. Since then, I have viewed and posted on other forums (especially the Music forum). But I can get that on other sites. If you don't want me here, that's fine. Just don't make promises that aren't kept.

Who promised you anything? I don't know about you, but for me the board is free and lacks any kind of binding legal agreement with its membership. Don't pretend you are owed anything.

Promises are kept here. More than likely your posts just haven't been reviewed yet. From what I saw you should go out into other areas of the board as well. Give it some time. Don't rush it. Good things come to those who wait. Only thing I worry about is that you seem more concerned with the EZ than with the rest of the board. Take it one day at the time and just give quality posts and mingle in the crowd a bit. If you do this and you post responsibly then one day you'll log in and the promised land will be within reach :thumbsup:

The only "promise" that's made is that at a certain point memers are flagged for staff review. To be perfectly frank, when you're participating only to gain access to the EZ, we can tell and it's going to take a lot longer to gain access, if ever. The EZ is not what this board is about - that's made very clear in the rules plastered all around you. If you got the idea that the EZ was of central importance to the board simply because it was freely available for a time when we were capable of handling it, then that's no one's fault but your own.

So, if the EZ is the only reason you're hanging around, you probably would be more happy going somewhere else for your porn.

I've looked over your contributions and quite frankly am not all that impressed after seeing you state that you are "still waiting"

contribute to the community. that's not just posting, that's contributing insight, being helpful to the rest of he community, and all around trying to be here instead of just focused on staring at the boobs in the EZ.

so here's my take on it now...here's what the future actions I foresee...

you're just posting here for the sake of posting until you get EZ access... once you get it... I doubt you'll post anymore in the regular forums with any real passion or regularity. Am I wrong? maybe but when it comes to these things... usually not.

I contribute to other parts of the board like many others but the EZ is my favorite zone. I was linked here from FARK and I do read the posts and chim in when i can with opinion

Sorry that I have not impressed you with my posts. I don't know what is expected of me, I guess. I respond to what I find stimulating and interesting. I don't have unlimited time to search through 25 boards to find more things to respond to, so I mainly stick to the music board because that is what interests me the most. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic there because I just see the same threads over and over. I guess my main problem is that I don't like being judged. That just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It's like high school all over again.

Rest assured it's not like high school in here.

we have diverse staff with diverse outlooks and lifestyles. We also do NOT judge people for their beliefs, outlooks, or lifestyles, we judge people based on their contribution to the community.

Your contributions were fine and didn't light up or send up any red flags when I saw them normally. After fishing for them after seeing you complain that you're "still waiting" pushing the burden on the staff to react, I then thought differently.

As people before me have said, sit and enjoy the conversation. Things will happen on their own time. There's plenty of freebie porn on the net... you can find that anywhere, but what you can't find are intelligent discussions with community minded people.

if that's the words you'd like to choose, then so be it. From my perspective, I look at those that have met the automatic qualifications and then I look at all the posts the member has contributed, sometimes I affirm the person right away, other times I have been known to wait months. Mind you I'm not the only mod that looks at this, I'm not the sole affirmer (judge to use your words.) I don't look at the list every day to figure it out. I look at it when I see an exemplary post, or a number of good solid contributions from a member and then revisit their status.

Otherwise, there is no day to day judging.

If you'd like to continue the conversation as a discourse then I see this having some good value, but if you're just going to whine about it then it adds no value, in fact just makes it even MORE a reason to not.

Just think about this fact, we have tons of people complaining that the EZ board is gone. How can you differentiate yourself from that noise? Be a contributing member and don't worry about the state of the EZ board. The more you focus on it the more it will be out of your grasp.

Call it what you will, but I don't believe I was whining- just clarifying. And it's not like I was on here every day asking why I couldn't access the EZ. I waited a week before I brought it up for only the second time and that was before I realized how things really worked around here. Consider this my last post on the topic.
