What do the symbols mean on the left?
I changed my skin to the 4.0 and I am seeing little symbols that I don't understand.
The one with the lock is easy, but what is the difference between blue, red and yellow? Also, on the blue ones, what does the black dot mean? The eyelash-looking things on top? The eyelashes and the dot? Thanks, I was just curious.... |
Correct me if I am wrong, but I will take a stab at this.
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/style_tfp4/off.gif This means there are no new threads or post since your last visit to this forum. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/style_tfp4/on.gif There have been new threads since made. (Or post) http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/..._hotfolder.gif THe dot signifies that you have "subscribed to this thread" and it will email you when a new reply is made onit. The closed letter is explained below this. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/.../hotfolder.gif This is a thread that you have viewed and has not since had any new replies within it since your last view. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/.../newfolder.gif This is a thread that you have allready once opened, but has since had a new reply. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/...whotfolder.gif This is a thread that you have opened and has a new replies within it. It is red because it considered "hot" and has a lot of replies. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/...lockfolder.gif Was once a booming thread that has been since locked. Hope that helps somewhat. |
sorry.. that is not all correct
.. stand by for explanation |
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/...fp4/folder.gif just a regular thread, you've either read it or ignored it for long enough
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/.../hotfolder.gif same thing, except it's a popular thread http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/.../newfolder.gif this is either a new thread or just a thread that has new replies since you last read it http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/images/...whotfolder.gif same thing, except it's popular The icons with dots over them means that you've posted to that thread. |
instead of making a new post, my question/issue/problem kinda applies to the icons I guess. When I first come to the TFP the bulletin board icons that show up next to each thread are rexed TONS. Sometimes they all show but mostly better than half of them are rexed.
note:it is only on the first main page with all the different forums listed, nothing is wrong within each forum or anything else that I can see or tell |
never ever seen that, montana
questions: what browser? what kind of connection? who is your isp? do you use any firewall/spyware/adware/popup protection programs that are active during browsing? |
IE 6.x
Windows XP Pro SP2 only the pop up stopper that came with SP2, pre SP2 I had been using an older version of panicware.com's pop-up stopper On a LinkSys router using Nat, no other firewall software installed, SP2's firewall is DISABLED. RoadRunner ISP, Cable connection No other programs running that disable or affect browsing that I am aware of, and I am pretty tight on my PC security. sidenote...just now logging in about 80% of the message board image thingies in question were all intact while the rest were rexed. another update.. ALL of them that were said to contain new posts were rexed along with the image at the bottom that shows what the new posts image looks like |
The "dot" is a seal
http://www.theshopstationery.com/sit...tures/seal.jpg if it helps you visualize it better and remember what it means |
aight figgered this would be the best way to try and explain what I am talking about rather than confuse myself into thinking up some non confusing to you way of saying it
This is what I see everytime I log onto the TFP, only since the upgrade never happened before http://www.boomspeed.com/montanaxvi/Untitled.jpg |
