Can't log in to chat

I just tried to log in to chat and it required a password. I tried to register using "GrasshopperGreen" and "GrasshopperG" and it kept telling me I had an invalid character and to change my username. Huh? The only oddity I can guess is a capitalization.

Are you trying to log in with the banner instead of the text link?

Try this link

Tilted Forum Project Chat Rooms

Did that help?

Also you should be able to have a space between Grashopper and Green.

Same problem I've been experiencing for at least a month,
The asking for a password thing... and then it tells me my username is already registered.
Which is one I've used in chat forever.

That brings up the same username/password requirement as when I try the banner. I also tried Grasshopper Green with a space and it said invalid character. It seems Grasshopper alone is already taken.

Can you ladies let me know what browser you are using?

Trying to troubleshoot now.

Do you have a popup blocker on?

If it opens in a new tab, it seems to require the password information. if it opens in a new window for me, it works fine.

I had it block me too, once i opened the window in a new tab or on the same full page. I had to log out of TFP, log back in, and then right click on the link and do "open link in new window". once I did that, it seemed to clear the previous window of requiring a password.

Sorry I missed this. I am using IE, Windows 7, and it only works when I use the TFP Chat Room link in the top next to Donations. It opens a popup and it works.

Good peoples,

Any reason why monkie's fix might not be working for a Chrome/Firefox/Safari user on a Mac?

...I think it may just be me.

I use both Chrome and Safari and that is how I managed to fix it. Do you have your popup blocker on for Chrome?

catch me on AIM (usaflag0990) if you want some realtime help.

Problem solved!

For the benefit of others—and I'm sure this has already been covered elsewhere—the top horizontal navigation isn't universal across all themes, including the one I had been using (bo2o), so the chat room link that works correctly wasn't visible or available.

I've since switched themes—thanks again monkie!

Nope, this doesn't help when using IE, and right now I don't have much of a choice. I am also using the TFPGreen skin.

Okay, somehow I got it to work in IE after refreshing the Flash addon. Before that, it wouldn't work.

Try it again.

From time to time I have to keep some moron from being in there, which requires me to make it members only via a backend change.

If it is set to members only you can only log in from the TOP most link next to User CP.

Also if you have popup blockers, it may block the window that is opened.
