Automerge?
yes, from running my own boards (not this software though) I know what this is....my question is why is it automerging with a post I made YESTERDAY MORNING.
Im trying to add something to my breast reduction thread, but its automerging with a post I made around 11am yesterday and its not showing up as a new post. Is the option to set to automerge if you make two posts in a row no matter when the previous one was made? (I know with IPB it can be set to X number of minutes, dont know about vbulletin, but 2 posts on two differen days merged is kinda silly) |
It's within a day to keep people from just bumping threads repeatedly. Kind of like in the request board, day 1: "anyone have a set of her?" next day: "bump" and etc for about a week. If I remember correctly, it's only for a day after though.

OK....I will try posting again after 11
|
I'm not sure about how it's coded exactly, so the one day may or may not be exactly 24 hours. It may only just check the date itself without regards to the time.
|
well if that were the case it would have let me post this morning around 730 as my last post was the 25th and today is the 26th
|
Hah. I don't know how it works either. Imagine that.
So, whats so bad about having one big post? |
well because I wanted to add to it and it merged it with an old post and didnt indicate there was a new post there to read. To people like me that navigate boards using the view new posts link only, it can means you can miss out on stuff because with a merge, naturally its not a new post.
"someone" has the timer set for 24 hours, it let me make a new post right after 11 this morning |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 04:12 AM. |
