More Skins
I would like to suggest adding more skins to the forum. Out of the five that are now available, I can't find one that does not hurt my eyes, is easy to read, and has easily recognizable new post icons. How about something light, with darker letters and bright icons?? I know few that I would like from phpBB, but I'm not too familiar with vbulletin skins.

If you can find a few that you'd like added, we can probably give them a test drive.
I find that Hardwired is easy on the eyes, and the icons are pretty straightforward. On the index, a dot means a forum has no new posts, and arrow means new posts. In each forum, a small triangle and bold title mean a thread has new posts, a regular title means it doesn't. |

I've tried to find some good free skins...so far no luck. It seems like most of them you have to purchase in a bundle. I remember when hal was messin with the newest skins and asked for help finding some more.. I looked for hours and came up with nothing. Alas, I'm not an obsessive librarian who is also a vibrantly colored fruit so that may have been my error

I wonder how much work goes into designing a theme. Is there a free skin editor? I suppose I'd probably need vBulletin itself running on my system in order to make it happen. Am I too vibrant? I switched my avatar once, but Nancy made me switch back.

Sandstorm is the only one that doesn't hurt my eyes. Last summer I was using a different one that also worked well until it was taken away. I can't remember the name, but I seem to remember it having blue colors.

I use hardwired as it looks good, is clear regarding icons and I feel a darker background is best. Otherwise I feel like I'm staring at a lightbulb all day long. Not that that's particularly relevant to this thread...

Alright, I've done some surfing and I found five skins that I personally like (my favorite is Cobalt):
Ambience (have it) Cobalt (still looking for it) Applied (still looking) Synapse (have it) Mecka (have it) The whole list of skins is available here and here. I still need to find Cobalt and Applied. I have the rest, so if you want to I can send them over. |
