Tilted Military? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

There are several military-related issues that could be discussed in a military forum. There'd have to be a few stickies at the top, disclaimers about the content not being endorsed by the military or the govt, and possibly some other legal things. I could talk to the PA office, to see if something like this would be ok from the military's standpoint. I'm not sure if they'd be ok with it or not. There are several stories everyday that affect military only, as well as work related experiences that military members have, that aren't duplicated in the civilian sector. For instance, the military is the only job in the US that your employer can throw you into jail for cussing out your boss. I can post a vote thread to see if people like the idea, and would be willing to help moderate it in my spare time.

Many issues can and should be discussed in Members' Playground or Politics. Something that I do think is worth considering, is a regional forum for members of the armed forces. I'll mention it and we'll see how everyone likes the idea

I didn't mean how political issues such as war affect us, I meant smaller issues. For instance, the new military uniforms. That doesn't really affect anyone outside of the military, but I promise you military members have a lot to say about them. Not really a political issue.

Having a military section could also be a support group for families that have people overseas!

put another vote in for a military forum. adding it to the regional forum-section is a good idea, it reflects the reality of military personnel living a highly mobile lifestyle and would be a good home for military-specific issues that mirror the regional issues that are often discussed in many of the regional threads.

like the thread-starter suggested, it would be best to get some PA input in before it got started. make sure those guidelines are shown upfront and easily available to all. and... if possible, i'd appreciate it being modded (at least in part) by someone with military experience. if i'm not mistaken, there are plenty of salty ol' TFP'ers with service experience.

It would fit in great in the regional section, considering we're all spread out across the world. I like hearing stories of other personnel, having it all consolidated in one place would be nice. This is just a vote for it, nothing more.

I thought you wanted to start a TFP army so that we together could rise against the evils of this world and set those enslaved free forever. Failing that i guess having military section is not such a bad idea.

I think it could be a very non-political / non-philosophical place.

I mean, I have lots of opinions on the new uniforms, IMP's, LBV's, and BVD's.

One question... does the highest military ranking TFP'er get the final say?

I would love to talk doctrine, boots bullets and benzene with you military rats in other countries.

What if two countries go to war, and there is a dedicated TFP'er on each side? Halx, you could be part of the peace process brother!!
