Plaintext TFP
OK, this is being greedy - I love the tfp, I think it's a great place - but I spend a lot of my time here while I'm at work.
What would be *great* would be a stylesheet that is all ascii fixed-size, black on white, plain, vanilla - so I can browse the tfp and look as though I'm reading through some code at the same time. Plus, it's a classic and aesthetically pleasing style too. |
A very interesting idea. Perhaps you could design it? Then you wouldn't be greedy. :D I have no idea how you would go about that without owning a copy of vBulletin, however.

I'm believe you can just get a Plain Text Browser, you could always use it just for your TFPing. I'd point you in the right direction on something that you're proposing, but I too also have no idea how that would work. I'm guessing it would be like if you want to view a site in HTML, or Text-only, but it has to be extremely different for something like this.

If you have an RSS-enabled browser, you can read TFP, and it looks like email.

I think the closest thing to that would have to be Lo-Fi Hi-Fi page versions. Halx used to have them here on that light-blue and white schema (theme) but removed it for some reason.

here's a suggestion for worksafe viewing... down at the bottom of your screen, there are a number of textlinks in the (in sandstorm scheme) blue bar. one of them says Archive. click it, and you will come to a very basic layout of the tfp. within the individual forums, the threads are listed in the order that they were posted (newest ones are at the end) and there's no ability to reply, but if you just want to do some reading, that may be your best bet.
