Torrents for members?
 

I was thinking, with bittorrent being all the rage now, if it would be cool to have a members only torrent section.

Just seems like a nice "perk" to add for everyone at this point. :)

I'm going to take a pretty good guess at this, and say this wont ever leave the ground.

Torrents, for the better part are for warez, go against TFP rules.

Unless you honestly expect a forum of torrents of game demos, or trial software, it will be going against the TFP Charter.

To those of you who do use BT for your downloading purposes, I wish you good luck. Its easier to get your information and know what you're downloading then it is on kazaa. They've allready started to aim at BT.

Just wanted to add that for BT to be fully useful/functional, we need seeders. I just don't see enough people seeding a file here, when it would be so much easier to post it on a fully devoted BT tracker site.

Exactly. Sorry, but it can pretty much definitively be said that this won't happen. Thanks for the suggestion though.

As a reminder, if you DO have a bt link for something LEGIT it's ok to post that if there is an applicable thread. For example, in the thread discussing the release of the open-source Mozilla Firefox 0.8, I posted a bt link for people to download it easily since the Mozilla servers were under a lot of stress. So, don't make threads for the express purpose of providing a bt link to a game demo release or anything, but if you'd like, it's ok to post LEGAL bt links in applicable threads.
