Tilted Thread of the day
This idea just hit me, just a thought. A Tilted Thread of the Day would be a thread posted at the top of each subject forum. The Mods or Adms could choose one thread they found rather interesting that they think shouldn't go unread. Plus we the members could get recognition for posting such a sweet thread. Maybe having this would make people want to post more exciting/interesting threads to make Tilted Thread of the Day. ??

Developing it further, we could have a random thread of the day, and a chosen thread of the day. either that, or it the mods didn't want the extra work, just a random thread of the day. The mods would need the option of changing it in case the auto-choose script chose a fairly dead thread with rexed images or something, but it has potential. I like the idea!
Oldtimer? Got any of your great scripts to do this too?

Yeah, I can hook you guys up. But if I've said it from time and time again, I don't make these hacks. I just find them. Thread of the Day BUT, this hack requires vBulletin 3.0.0 up (which means we would need to upgrade) unless otherwise stated. The oddest thing about this is that even if I had known upon the first day this thread was created I wouldn't have been able to provide an answer. But, more than one week from the date of today and somebody decides to draw up this hack... Fortune's smiling upon somebody.

Oldtimer - you're a marvel! As ever...
Halx/Mods etc - What's actually involved in upgrading us to v3? Is it hard/expensive/lengthy etc? Or is it a simple case of taking the board offline for a few minutes and changing the core script files? I ask as I'd love to see this happen but know nothing about how vbulletin works. I'm all ears though...

just to build on this (and bump it) it would be cool to have a thread of the day for all of TFP, maybe chose by halx from among the forum threads of the day. That way people might start looking into forums they wouldn't otherwise venture into.

re: upgrading - v3 is technically still in beta stage, but it's expected to go 'gold' veery soon.
It's pretty solid tho, I wouldn't expect lots of bugs, but it's quite a bit more to configure.

Me likes this idea. I hope things go through--this is one of the best suggestions Ive seen in a while.
