A Banned members forum!
The subject of another thread gave me this idea!
All members that have been banned from TFP will get access to one forum, Tilted Banned. That way, they can talk to each other about how and why they got banned. At least they'd be participating on TFP and will be somewhat motivated to do so! Eventually, if they post enough reasonable stuff on Tilted Banned, their ban can be lifted... |

Heh, an original idea, but impractical. Most people are banned for one of 2 reasons - they're underage or they've screwed up many times after having been given a significant number of chances to stop being a problem. And then there are the small handful of people who are simply flat-out jerks also.
These are not people we want here and they're not worth the effort a Tilteed Banned forum would require.

I have a forum like this setup for my guild site, which I call "The Drool Cup." If someone is ever to be suspended or banned, they will be restricted to that forum. I luckily haven't had to use it yet!

and hope you don't. Once you ban someone, they get really upset and are pretty much willing to do whatever it takes to annoy the crap out of you...

Get a shortbus forum or something. I know couple of other forums has that kind of thing where members are breaking rules and they get sent to the "shortbus"

Ahhh, no. It's like sticking a bunch of gun wielding murderers in a room together. It also defeats the purpose of the ban if they're just given new priviledges. Possibly we could restrict people that are about to get banned to only a certain few forums. It would be a sort of suspension but I don't know how well confining a large group of morons to a small space would work.

hmm maybe i'm wrong, but i always thought 'banned' meant you couldn't even access the boards anymore?

I'm pretty sure that those who are banned are banned for good reason and aren't the kind of posters who would contribute to the forum anyway...
If a forum like that were created, it'd probably wind up being a massive troll-fest, full of people bitching and moaning about why they got banned in the first place. The mods have enough to do already without having to deal with all that...

imho, it seems ridiculous to give trouble makers anything, but the boot. adios!
no doubt these sorts of rude people will quickly find another board where they can aggravate, annoy & stir shit. i've never understood the pleasure that some people derive from being mean & nasty... personally, i wouldn't give them time of day, let alone their own forum.
