How about a Tilted Employment?

Man finding a job is much harder than I thought. I have looked everywhere, guess I am impatient. I think I have solid background with some good skills I obtained while in the military then I recently graduated from from school (Indiana University)with a BA in Liberal Arts. I guess these days a BA is like a high school diploma was years ago, not to downgrade a HS degree because it is an important degree but to get a great job it seems you need a Masters. Money isn't everything because my fiance will make the money in our home for some time but still I want something to make me happy. I will even relocate to Charleston, SC or Northeast of the country. Any tips, leads, advise?

Thanks

Keep on rolling. It only hurts for a little while.

Good luck on your job hunt. There are so many people out of work right now employers have the upper hand when it comes to hiring.

Don't let your lack of a Masters deter you from going after a job that is asking for that. COmpanies usually ask for more qualifications than are required for the position.

Not a bad idea for a forum for job postings.

I frankly doubt that a job postings board would do much good, just due to the numbers and liklihood of there being a match among job seekers and employers here, and besides, anyone that hired someone from here would know to limit their internet access at work! But I have noticed a number of job/interview/resume' etc... threads lately, so an employment forum might not be a bad idea.

A job board might not work but a forum dedicated to employment could include search tips, success stories, resume help, etc.

Hey Regg, as a fellow hoosier (though i went to the excellent Purdue University) and then finding myself out in the cold after graduation i can relate. My advise is to just take ANY JOB. seriously.. even an hourly job is better than nothing. If you are holding out for something related to your degree.. it might be a while in today's economy. Good luck!

Would you really want any prospective employeers doing a search on you and seeing what you have posted on the TFP? I wouldn't... 'nuff said.
