the bookmark icon
I have to complain about the bookmark icon of the boob... I use TFP a lot to kill boredom at work, but the boob showing on the address bar does not work out for me.

I noticed the new favicon - thanks Halx and co!
However, I do have to ask: Why have we gone back to the vbulletin standard? Ok, it's not too bad, but we need something that is still reminiscant of the TFP. I'm no artist - I steer a wide berth from the photochopping forum as my skills are very poor, but I threw this together: Do you think it may be worth holding a competiton to design the best TFP favicon? The prize for the winner will be to see it get used! There is a free favicon editor at www.favicon.co.uk

Aw, we totally need a spiffy bookmark icon for TFP. I like the angel/devil TFP logos so far. Someone skilled at making these things should post them here, or offer some alternatives. Let the submissions begin!

Ok, I've had another idea. This is tilted forum project, so the icon should be tilted!:
It's still crap, as I said before - my artistic talent is very lacking, but it's a step in the right direction. Anyone else? Mods - is it worth moving this thread to another board to make more people enter it or maybe putting a notice up for people to come here and put their ideas in?

Fremen, boomark any page on the TFP meaning right-click and add it your favorites then go inside of your favorties folder and find that entry. You should see a icon right by the favorite!

I did as you said and, voila!, there she be. I very rarely surf the net using IE and so I don't use the "My Favorites" folder. I mostly use AOL, and their little 'heart' icon to save favorite places. Hell, I even took off three of my options on the toolbar so I can have a quicklink to the TFP and two other sites. Thanks for the help. Oh, btw, I've enjoyed your hacks you've introduced. Pretty neat stuff. (esp. the alternative to the ban)

Please remember to comment on anything you like or see. It gets kind of lonely in there when you have 552 views and only 10 replies. By the way, those weren't real numbers, well not for me anyway.

Anything happening on the ico? I'm really just bumping this thread to give it some reading again. We've heard very little from the mods since Halx posted earlier. No-one else got any suggestions for a new icon?
No mods read this since I posted my suggestions?

Er, hello? Mods? If this is never to be taken up, please tell me, and I'll happily shut up, but this thread seems to have been overlooked more than anything else. I'd just be interested to see if anyone has any other suggestions for new icons etc, or what other think of mine?
Cheers, and sorry for having several posts in a row now...

Well, I can see your icon suggestions. Two things....
1) Ultimately, it's up to Hal. It's his site, so if he feels the icon needs changing he'll be the one to make that decision. 2) Honestly, and don't take this the wrong way, I'm not a big fan of your suggestions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of the one there is presently either, but I just think your suggestions are too bright or something. I don't know what it is. and 3) When it comes down to it, I really don't think the little bookmark icon is all that important. Part of the reason I suspect this idea has been overlooked so much is just that there are bigger things to worry about with the running of the site than the bookmark icon Thanks for the suggestions though.
