Travel where?
Descriptions about places we visit?
Questions on places to go?
What to do in the places that we are?
How to get from here to there, and back again?
Why one place and not another?

Give me some help, because based on your post I am a little lost on what Travel means.

I think that is a fantastic idea! I travel often and would have much to contribute. OBTW, meanSpleen, you answered your own question.

I have lived a number of places and travelled a lot... I'd love to share some insight and be able to get info on new places that I may go from "the tilted"....

I'd love a travel forum. I've read posts on TFP about asking what to do in such and such a place. I love to hear about those out of the way places (stuff you won't find in a AAA book for instance) that someone may have happened upon. Could be a cool restaurant, bar, beach, road to drive, or just a nice view. I'd bet people would willing to share personal experiences on more common vacation type stuff too - like cruises, theme parks and museums.

I don't care for most of the touristy type stuff and would love to hear about places that make members home towns or areas really special.

Someone posted in one of the forums here pictures from a trip to NYC. There were pretty cool. Maybe a travel forum could be a place for more vacations 'slideshows' like this.

The one down side is that, IMHO, there may be too many forums on TFP already. In some ways I like this there are certian topics I'm not interesting in and will rarely visits those forums. On the other hand I enjoy the mish-mash of stuff in the general forum and sometimes find a pleasant thread I'd otherwise miss.

I love the idea. Yoshi and I just got back from Amsterdam and the advice gleaned from a forum I started in general discussion was a great help.

Plus, we've got some amazing stories to share, but there doesn't seem to be a suitable place...

I agree, I love to travel as well, and I think a lot can be gained by all from sharing of experiences.

I would like a Travel section as well. While I have some ideas on where I would like to go, it would be great if I could draw on the collective experiences of the community to perhaps direct me to a place I never would have considered otherwise.

I also think Titlted Travel makes sense....

Have it maybe as an international meeting point.

Travelling is such a great thing to do and people always want to share their experiences.

I know when I've travelled overseas I've tried many ways find people in the country(s) I'm going to before I get there. Or at least try find someone who's been where i'm going before. t would be a great place to get tips on where to stay, what to do etc etc. Also might be a good way for members of TFP to organise to actually meet.

I agree it is needed. Some of us spend a lot of time travelling and could share things we would not ordinarily even mention amongst fellow road-warriors.

maybe you all who do want to have this as a forum start posting in General Discussion and make the topic headline start with Tilted Travel: (location/information/etc)

does anyone have any topics to start with? I have posted mine for Europe in October...I'll change that subject when I get another hit from it...
