Would it be possible to block the Ladies Lounge from my view?
'cause I really wanted to post a picture of some clippers in the "perfect hair care product" thread but you know... being a guy and all.
I seem to recall some vBulliten board being able to block a certain sub forum for those that didn't want to see it. |
It would be nice if we could join a group that could view but could not post, I sometimes come close to accidentally posting there by mistake and actually did once... it happens when you use the "New Posts" link to visit the board.
|
yah, I'm all about the "new posts" search on all vBullietin boards. The hair care thread was the only tempting one so far but I'm still new.
I notice "how do you feel about your boobs" has over 1000 views. I guess TFP guys want to know how TFP girls feel about their boobs. Perhaps a "look don't touch" policy could apply to the forum itself, not just the boobs. I imagine those guys are self moderating just from the policy. Personally, I'd rather just not see the ladies section, since it doesn't concern me. |
It's interesting to see what the girls say when men don't butt in, I always learn something. If the "post reply" button wasn't available to me that would be great though... or even if the forum was a different colour, like pink or red or something.

I read may threads there, and have been known to send a PM to a lady mod or member with an observation.
If they feel it appropriate they pass it on. It works very well. I did once post by accident, but I got a very polite PM explaining that I had made a mistake and asking if I wanted a woman to (re)post my comment. |
that's what I do, and it's always well recieved, if not passed on and posted. Honestly smoore, the Ladies Lounge is one of the best parts of this whole forum, where else can you get an insight into how women think and what they think of men?

And yes, that thread is hot. |

Once it seems to come to a close, I'll be printing it out for my wife. |
I love that thread, if there was ever a female body part that guys would want for themselves, it has to be boobs. I even wrote a pm to Sweetpea thanking her for starting that thread.
|
the forum originally was designed around the idea that there needed to be some respite from the males of the forum, where they could feel safer posting and not worry about guys intruding in response.
It's not a big deal if someone posted there in error. It's the habitual offender doing it on purpose that is the problem. I look at new posts all the time, but before clicking through, I check what forum destination I'm headed off to so that I know if it's a posting place or not. I've almost responded to many threads, just like you. The hair care products thread seems to catch me as of late, odd too since I don't really use any specialty products save a hair tie. |

I noticed none of the ladies had posted here yet, so I'll throw in our side of things. We love the men of TFP, and we're glad you enjoy reading our threads. Please feel free to do so. Replying yourself is not allowed; however, feel free to PM one of the ladies if you want to share your 2 cents. Sometimes a man's view is appropriate in a thread; sometimes it is not. We understand that there are some threads that are just too good not to reply to, but we ask that you send your replies to us first. On that same note, if you wish to have an issue examined by the ladies in the Ladies Lounge, you may PM your thread suggestion to one of the ladies. We've done this for men on the board a few times, when they want a female-only response. If you accidentally reply, don't worry about it. I usually PM the user who did it, explain how the Ladies Lounge is different from the rest of the board, and click report post so a mod can remove the post. But I certainly don't hold any ill will towards a man who makes a simple mistake. Any ladies have anything else to add? :) |
I agree with snowy.....and I've never had a problem passing along a post from a male that would like to throw his two cents worth in
|
Of my 8000+ posts, I accidentally posted there once. Do people really not notice what forum they're reading?

Sorry... What are we talking about? |
Ive never tried to look at the ladies lounge forum, I always assumed I'd be automatically blocked from it to be honest.
But if Im not, I probably should be! At least in my opinion I always considered it to be for females only, and that male members of the TFP shouldnt comment in it or read anything on it. |
