Is there a way to change the amount of time before you're automatically logged out? It's kind of annoying to have to log in again after typing a long post.

Sorry, but unfortunately, there isn't. If I know I'm going to be away for a bit, I open a new tab and click on the Currently active users link on the front page, which will reload at least once per minute, keeping you logged in while you type. You can either do that or click the "Remember me" box next to the login.

I use a program called FASS which helps with quotes, URLs, and other bbcode when doing long posts. Even with the cookie, you can still inadvertanly blow your post away, and this has a save draft feature as well.
