Adding sounds?
 

This is just off the top of my head now but Could we add sounds to the forum? It's a long shot but everything so far I've read has been rejected or deemed undoable. This may be one of them. God, for a suggestion forum, you'd think there would be better ideas?

The problem with adding sounds is that the sounds would take extra time to download, would slow the server down, and would take up bandwith. I usually have the tv or music on while I'm here, so sounds would annoy the hell out of me while I'm browsing.

I browse with the sound muted anyway. Theres not much worse than hearing pops, clicks, and snippets of stuff when I'm surfing or doing stuff. Besides, I don't want to hear a sound everytime a page loads. Thats what tabs are for. :)

mhm, i too don't allow sounds, i find them annoying in general.

I like to pretend that I have some authority when looking through these threads because I have extensive programming experience and some experience running and maintaining an IIS server :D Allow me to quote Hal:

What is the majority of the data transferred? I would imagine that 99.99% of it is nothing but raw text. Imagine if the server started dishing out sound files. Yeesh.

As I said, just throwing it out there. I wasn't fond of the idea myself but when I look at the other suggestions, I feel something new needs to happen to this forum............now.
