Well, obviously a little late for predictions, but I definitely had the Bears picked. I've always rooted for any team that rose from mediocrity (big underdog guy), and besides I just actually thought that the Bears would pull it out. But oh well, I don't have anything against Carolina either. I do think, however, that, even though he pulled it together after his 3 for 15 start, Rex Grossman is just most definitely not a starting quarterback in this league, and they're on the fast track to nowhere until they remedy that situation. Also, am I the only one that thought this was one of the most physical, hard-hitting contests in a long time? They beat the hell out of each other. Deshaun Foster in particular took it hard. Very entertaining game.

Charles Tillman probably had his worst game of his career and why Rivera didn't put Vasher on Steve Smith after Tillman had been burned time after time is beyond me. The defense and it's coach is to blame, not Grossman or the offense. Hats off to Carolina though. They have one playmaker on the entire team, but he is so good it may take them all the way. That is, of course, Steve Smith.

What really bugs me is that Tillman kept getting burned, so he moves Chris Thompson over to cover one of the best WRs in the game and has the best CB on the team cover the other receivers who only get the ball if Smith double or triple teamed. Why the hell would you put a second year guy who was inactive in every game his first season, and saw limited playing time this season, up against Steve Smith?!?! I like Ron Rivera, but what was he thinking?

I agree about the defense however I question more the offensive calls. All season the team played a very conservative ball controll game. Turner didn't open up the offense with Orton, was content to run the ball or go with only short yardage passes. Then Grossman starts with nearly no game time experience and throws long repeatedly. 3 and out, 3 and out, over and over again the first half. The defense never got a rest between possessions. The whole team, including the coaching staff got their asses kicked. Long ways to go before they are as good as they hype. Best team in a very weak conference, and it showed on Sunday. And I am a huge Bears fan.

I'm way more excited about the Steelers playing the Broncos. But then, that's just me!
Football is fun to watch this time of the year!

Allright guys, you've nailed me. I apologize.....seriously. I have a confession to make. I'm a huge UT Vols fan, and I hate absolutely anything and everything Florida Gators (unless the sign with the Titans, you know how it is), so I'm just naturally biased against Grossman, and when he started out SOOO terribly, I felt completely justified in that. But, you guys are right, he did turn it around, and I'm not giving him enough credit. And while I don't mean to double-talk, I still don't really think that he's a franchise QB.
One thing that I meant to say as well, in regards to the playcalling. What the hell happened to Thomas Jones? Regardless of what you think of Grossman, he was most definitely inexperienced, and Jones has been effective, so tell me this............why the hell did Grossman throw the ball 41 times??? I mean c'mon, you guys can't think that they utilized Jones as much as they should have? Especially given the QB situation??
