Bout friggin time, I was getting worried when they were lagging at the beginning of the season. Thankfully, they managed to pull their shit together and defeating the Red Wings shows that they're bound to get into the playoff for the second time straight after missing it for...7 years or so.
Btw, in the 04 season, the flames lagged pretty badly at the beginning of the season, but they managed to win the western conference champions in the end.

I promised myself I wouldn't get caught up in the Flames this season after getting heartbroken a couple years ago and pissed off at what happened last year with the NHL.
But it's only been a few games in and I'm already cheering them on again. I think they got off to a slow start because they had a bunch of road games and were still trying to fit in some new pieces, wear off the rust, and deal with the changes in the game. I doubt they'll get another shot at the Stanley Cup, but they should at least make the playoffs and scare some people. |

OH SHUT UP!!!!!
/Redwings fan Seriously, you got a great player in McCarty. He's a scrapper, and an all-around great guy. And he scores goals against Detroit, so you've got that going for ya as well.

I just read an article on TSN about how the Flames just moved up to the top in the Northwest Division, and I think that's awesome.
They've been my favourite team from the West ever since I saw them make their Stanley Cup run a couple of years ago. I should point out that, yes, I was a bandwagon jumper, but I didn't do so because they were winning. I jumped aboard because I was mighty impressed with just how hard they work out on the ice. You have to respect a team like that. I'm really looking forward to watching Ottawa play against them on Saturday. It'll be a good test to see if Ottawa has what it takes to win against a team that quite simply works their asses off.
