Uh oh, here come the Yankees
After being left for dead almost all year long, the Yanks are just a game and a half behind the RedSox. this could get real interesting.. let's see if the Sox revert back to their usual late season collapse at the hands of the Bombers.

Dudes.....haven't you heard.....the road to the AL playoffs goes through Tampa Bay.
27-15 since the break. Swept the formerly west leading Angels last weekend. If the Spankees don't make the playoffs thay can point directly at their losing record against the DRays. (Gotta get my smack talk in where I can, it's been a long season. A good secong half keeps hopes alive though)

DDDDave has a good point about Tampa Bay. They beat the hell out the the Yanks all year (and somehow every year for that matter).
Either way, the Yanks are rolling and looking pretty scarey. Their bats are about red hot with Giambi and AROD almost impossible to get out and the rest of the lineup smoking as well. Me? I think the World Series travels through the Yankees bullpen. Their starters are fine for a short series, but we really need to have one of these starters coming back from injury or in the rotation to move to the pen and be very effective at getting outs from there. That will give us a ring when combined with Mo, Gordon et all.

I guess it doesn't get much tighter than this.
Devil Rays once again being the spoiler. Trying to sweep Cleveland three straight tonight. October baseball, gotta love it......

I'm just hoping that somehow the Yankees end up out of the playoffs
No, really I'm kind of sick of the Red Sox at this point too... it was a good story last season, I was all for them ending the "curse" but after a full year of hearing about how great they are, I could do without them as well. I just enjoy all the drama leading up to the playoffs this year, as DDDDave says, you gotta love October baseball.

Can anyone even tell me the difference between the Sox and Yanks at this point, they both pay as much as possible to get the players they want.
It just irks me to hear Sox fans say teh Yanks buy titles .. what the hell was Schilling, Ortiz damon, Veritek, need I go on?
